The Business
A new launch for the Weekend FT
The Business was a new launch at the start of the 90’s to go in the FT Weekend magazine package. I was hired as art director from the first issue and tried to create something very fresh in the business magazine market. Our first informal rule was that business shouldn’t be boring, our second was that we should cover as much startup culture as we could. That is commonplace now, of course, but we broke new ground when we came out.
We won PPA awards for our use of photography and we also garnered a reputation for using cutting-edge illustrators for a good proportion of our stories.
Check out some of the covers I did.
